Learn how to critically evaluate games and be guided to create your own game, focusing on a different element of game design each session.

Young people today are the most tech-savvy generation to date, and much of their social time involves playing online games. Teaching students to critically evaluate and create their own games helps them to build their digital literacy skills and integrate game-based learning into their educational experience.

Good game design involves bringing together a wide range of elements from different areas. Each session will focus on a different element including planning, character development, music and sound effects, and coding.

These sessions are based on ACMI’s online learning program Game Builder, and are targeted towards students in year levels 5 – 8.
