Changing the Game After School Program
June 9 @ 4:00 pm - June 16 @ 5:30 pm
Experience advanced technologies being used in the Sports Science industry and be involved in a local sporting legends project.
As part of the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series, this program is for high-achieving students in years 8 -10 and being run over two sessions (9 June and 16 June 2021), attendance at both sessions is required to complete the project.
Innovation and technology are changing the game in Australia. The latest advancements are influencing how we play, compete, train, and spectate our favourite and new sports. We have gone from local face-to-face traditional sports to now having the ability to compete in virtual environments with international competitors.
Through our after-school sessions, students will explore the application of science and technology to the sports and fitness industries. Students will learn how technology is used to improve athletic performance, reduce injury, and experience a range of new innovative ways to get people moving, training, and competing that were previously not possible.
Our program will link students to local sporting organisations and involve students in a project to improve community awareness of the sporting legends behind our stadiums and sports facilities.
