Director

Paul holds a Master of Business, Master of Professional Education and Training, Bachelor of Social Science (Hons), and Diploma of VET Practice. Paul is also a Churchill Fellow and holds an ISS Fellowship.

He specialises in Humanities, Social Science, Economics, and Politics and aims to support young people to experience a variety of programs to help them develop their passion for learning.

He draws inspiration from the people around him and seeing teachers share their passions with students.

Head of Programs

Dan holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Bachelor of Business (Event Management), Graduate Diploma Teaching, Diploma Frontline Management, Cert III Sport and Recreation, Cert II Transport Distribution and Administration, and a short course in Biomanufacturing Pathways.

Whilst he has a diverse educational background, Dan specialises in Curriculum Development and problem-solving and aims to change the way students engage in learning in schools to include more choice and agency.

Phil Thomas

Facilitator

Phil holds a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Education, and further studies in Disability Studies and Justice Services. He has worked in a range of institutions, from primary schools to high schools, specialist schools, and correctional centres.

Coming from a background of trauma-informed education and applied learning, Phil has a keen interest in fabrication and robots, and in utilising technology to provide greater equity for all students across Gippsland.

Molly Irvine

Molly Irvine

Molly holds a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education as well as a Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education. She has worked at outdoor educational camps and specialises in Sports Science and Physical Education.

Molly is a triathlete and has competed at both a state and national level and as such, has represented Australia at the World Triathlon Championships.

Jed Foenander

Jed Foenander

Facilitator

Jed graduated from Federation University Gippsland Campus in 2020 and holds a Bachelor of Education with a Minor in Physical Education. He completed a year of teaching in Sydney before joining the Gippsland Tech School in 2022.

Jed has an interest in all aspects of the Tech School equipment, especially the 3D printing, laser cutting, and Sports Science in virtual reality.

Emily Scholes

Emily holds a Doctor (PhD) of Membrane Bioreactor Treatment of Pulp and Paper Wastewater as well as a Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Science from Monash Unversity.

With expertise in Wastewater treatment, Industrial Microbiology, Anaerobic Digestion, Bioenergy, and Process Problem Solving, her curiosity and inner geek inspire her to help industry and agriculture work towards becoming more sustainable whilst giving Gippsland students access to the same technologies and opportunities that city students have.

Project Officer - Digital Skills in Agriculture

Tony holds a Bachelor of Science in NRM, Diploma in Science – Horticulture, Diploma in Teaching, and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training. His passion is anything growing, in either home, environmental, or in a farm setting.

His aim is to inspirer the younger generation into providing food and looking after the environment for all future generations, by showing the advances in technology being used in agriculture.

Holding a Diploma in Human Resources Management and an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology, and having over 10 years’ experience in a variety of administration roles, Kat brings a wealth of knowledge and personality to the Tech School.

Kat is always keen to learn new things and enjoys tinkering with the variety of equipment the Tech School has to offer.

Warren holds a Doctor (PhD) of Philosophy – Physics, Master of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science, Graduate Diploma of Education, and Graduate Certificate in Training and Assessment. It’s not hard to tell that his field of expertise is Science in particular Physics, he is constantly aiming to make Science and Maths more fun and engaging for students at the Tech School.

Michelle holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, Graduate Certificate in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Applied Science (Microbiology and Biochemistry). She has an extensive career in the Essential Services Industry providing expert technical advice and a broad range of experience in operational management.

Jacqueline is our Solutions Architect but also specialises in Art Technology pursuits, VR (Virtual Reality), XR (Extended Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), moving image, still image, and SFX (sound effects capture/creation).

She enjoys the diversity of technologies that working at the Tech School brings and aims to utilise the opportunities of the ever-changing environment to better engage the emerging world around us.
